KUALA LUMPUR: Next Bike Sdn Bhd, the local Ducati motorcycle importer and distributor has launched the super exclusive Ducati Diavel AMG variant, a product of collaboration between Ducati and AMG, the performance tuning division of Mercedes-Benz.

With five only units allocated for Malaysia this year, three has been snapped up, leaving two units still available to lucky buyers.

The special edition motorcycle is based on the top-of-the-line Ducati Diavel Carbon and retails at RM193,999.

Dressed in matt black carbon fibre bodywork with AMG’s “Diamond White Bright” stripe and frame, the Diavel AMG gets contrasting black wheels.

Other exclusive features are AMG’s signature five twin-spoke wheel styling borrowed from AMG’s Mercedes-Benz tuned cars, carbon fibre lateral radiator grilles with aluminium trims, AMG-styled sports exhaust system with engraved end caps and AMG horizontally ribbed seat upholstered in Alcantara leather.

Each Ducati Diavel AMG motorcycle will come with their own identification number on the fuel tank.

The preview unit bearing the number “0000” was specially flown in and displayed at the Ducati AMG performance centre in Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur today.

The Diavel AMG variant was first unveiled at last year’s Frankfurt Motor Show.

Mechanically, the Diavel AMG remains unchanged from the Diavel Carbon variant, sporting the same 1,198cc Testastretta 11° engine with 162hp and 127Nm of torque, and features such as anti-lock braking system, Ducati Traction Control and Ducati Riding Modes.

Ducati’s unique collaboration with AMG was announced at the 2010 Los Angeles Motor Show.

The Diavel AMG is the first co-inspired model from the Ducati-AMG partnership which combines the distinctive styling features from both performance-oriented brands.
